Sifted, the award-winning tech news outlet backed by the Financial Times, is looking for a reporter based in Stockholm to join us covering the world of European startups and tech, with a focus on the New Nordics (aka. The Nordics and the Baltics).
You will be reporting on the stories, trends and founders shaping Europe’s most innovative region. You will be expected to break news, conduct in-depth interviews with founders, investors and policymakers and produce clear, well-researched analysis that helps readers understand developments across the New Nordics and beyond.
We are looking for a reporter with a strong appetite for news, a desire to develop sources and a can-do attitude. You should be curious to work across different formats — from written articles to podcasts and video.
While the New Nordics will be your core focus, you will be encouraged to report on companies and trends in the region as part of a broader European perspective and be able to quickly jump on news from other regions if needed.
You will be supported by and work closely with our Europe editor, based in Stockholm, and the rest of the editorial team, who have experience at outlets including the Financial Times, Bloomberg, Reuters, Dagens Industri and Fortune.
We strongly encourage applicants from underrepresented backgrounds and with knowledge of multiple European languages to apply for this position.

What Will You Be Doing?
Reporting to our Europe editor, Mimi Biling, you will be supporting Sifted’s coverage of the New Nordics and make sure Sifted is always on top of (and making!) news about the exciting developments in the region.
Like all our reporters, you’ll also have the opportunity to star in our weekly podcast, moderate in-person and online events hosted by Sifted and regularly travel abroad to attend industry events.

For this role, we’re open to applicants based or happy to relocate to Stockholm.

Annual salary of £30k
28 days annual leave, plus local public holidays
Hybrid work environment
Clear and thoughtful personal development pathways for all employees
Regular trips to London and team socials
