About Us

Big media misses what makes your town special. We don’t.

Don’t Miss is an award-winning network of hyper-local, creator-led, media focusing on newsletter and video. We focus on positive, lifestyle content encouraging pride in place and community cohesion.

We are authentically local and our editors are rooted in the places we are based, with content that connects directly with the audiences around them, in the formats they love, on the platforms they’re on already, using local creators and experts.

You’ll be the video eyes and ears of your local DM town – pitching, filming, editing and posting content that’s genuinely of the place, on the platforms your audience is already on: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. You’ll work alongside your local Newsletter Editor and the central team to make sure video and newsletter are telling the similar stories of the town, just in different formats.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

Pitch and create content for your local town – come up with ideas, script them, film them, editthem and post them.

You’ll see the whole process through across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, optimising content for each platform as you go.

Responsible for content scheduling and optimising, you’ll want to help us grow our channels to be the most trusted and used in town.

Work with us on paid content across our and your own channels.

Creator Support

Support our wider creator network as directed by the Creators Lead – for example on shoots, or with content ideas.

Local Business Partnerships

Build relationships with local businesses to find great video stories, and spot partnership opportunities our commercial team can turn into paid video collaborations.

Channel Presence

Respond to comments and act as the face and voice of our brand for your town on social platforms.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who are incredibly online with a real feel for what works on video – whether that’s from a student channel, your own content, or just years of knowing good TikTok when you see it.

You should be actively on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube in your free time and know what good content looks like. Filming and editing experience is a plus, but we’ll provide training, and you should have or be willing to gain the confidence to talk to camera.

You’re a self-starter who’s always got an idea for the next video and is willing to put in the work to bring it to life. One day you’re filming the best pizza in your place, the next you’re interviewing a local legend or helping direct one of your creators.

You’re not afraid to get out there and speak to people, immersing yourself in the local community and understanding that place inherently. You don’t have to start with all the knowledge about your place, but you should be willing to become an expert in what’s going on there – the local legends, the sports teams, the businesses, even the dialect.
