The Economist is hiring two digital interns, to be based in London. The internships are paid an annual salary of £30,000. They are full-time, will last a year and begin in the autumn. Successful candidates will write and edit World in Brief and manage the app and homepage. They will work closely with experienced journalists while doing so, and have time to pitch and write stories across the newspaper. The role occasionally involves working on the weekend.

Previous journalistic experience is not necessary; excellent writing and analytical skills are essential. Knowledge of one or more of business, economics, finance, science and technology is helpful. One should be no more than 500 words and suitable for publication in The Economist; the other no more than 160 words and suitable for publication in World in Brief. Both can be on the same topic.
