Agency Hackers, the premier independent agency community, is on the lookout for a dedicated news reporter to lead our innovative news website. This role entails providing daily updates on the latest stories, developments, and buzz within the independent agency sector.

As our news reporter, you’ll be responsible for researching, crafting, and publishing three to four engaging articles each day, focusing on the agency community and its key players. To excel in this role, you must immerse yourself in the industry and treat it as your specialised beat, much like a seasoned reporter for a local newspaper.

What Do We Need From You?

🤔 Curiosity. You should possess a strong desire to uncover stories and take pride in unearthing intriguing pieces of information within the agency sphere. This could be anything: mergers and acquisitions, new ventures, private equity investment, relocations, pivoting to a new niche etc.

🤝 Engagement. The successful candidate will be expected to actively engage with and become an integral part of our member community, staying up-to-date with current events and maintaining a strong presence within the industry.

🚀 Self-motivation. You should be confident in independently forging relationships and connections within one of the UK’s most captivating industries.

⚡️ Speed and adaptability. The ideal candidate should be able to produce a substantial volume of stories while working autonomously. Familiarity with AI tools, such as transcription services and ChatGPT for summarising quotes, is a plus. Although AI cannot yet create the unique stories of agency life we seek, you should be open to evolving your writing process to incorporate emerging technologies.

😎 Confidence. As a reporter, you must be comfortable making outbound phone calls and speaking confidently with sources.

💼 Business acumen. A basic understanding of business language is important. You should be able to quickly grasp the jargon and nuances of our industry.

Other Stuff

• This is a remote position. You can be based anywhere, but we’ll require you to travel (usually to London) for some meetings.
• We’re offering a salary of £26k
