Help us create events that inform, inspire and connect healthcare professionals.

Cogora is an integrated media and marketing services company at the heart of a community of 100,000+ highly engaged healthcare professionals working across UK primary care. For over 30 years, we’ve created influential content across our market-leading media brands, educational platforms and events, using our deep understanding of healthcare audiences to deliver content that informs, engages and makes a difference.

We’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded Conference Producer to join our events team and play a key role in developing new healthcare conferences alongside our established portfolio.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys creating and shaping conference programmes and wants genuine ownership of the content proposition.

You’ll help develop new and evolving healthcare conferences, using audience insight, market knowledge and commercial understanding to create programmes that are relevant, practical and engaging. You’ll work across both face-to-face and virtual events, with the opportunity to influence the development of our new events in areas including community pharmacy.

Reporting to the Director of Event Strategy and Business Development, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across events, sales, marketing and editorial, as well as association partners, sponsors and speakers.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Researching healthcare audiences, markets, competitors and emerging topics to identify opportunities
  • Developing conference programmes that meet our audiences’ needs through primary and secondary research, and collaboration with advisory boards and editorial teams
  • Building and managing programme advisory boards to bring audience insight and expert perspectives into programme development
  • Creating interactive and engaging session formats for virtual and face-to-face events
  • Recruiting, briefing and managing speakers, including negotiating expenses and collecting bios, photos and presentations
  • Liaising with sponsors to ensure sponsored symposium content aligns with the overall programme and that session and speaker details are collected in a timely manner
  • Working closely with sales to identify revenue opportunities and ensure delegate and sponsor objectives are balanced
  • Identifying and suggesting event contra partnerships with relevant healthcare organisations to support audience engagement and event reach
  • Working with marketing to develop messaging and copy for websites, emails and advertising
  • Managing programme and speaker delivery on-site at events across the UK
  • Supporting virtual events, including webinar platforms, sponsor staging pages and on-demand content
  • Developing your knowledge of the healthcare sector, competitor events and relevant compliance requirements, particularly ABPI

What We’re Looking For

You’ll have several years’ conference production experience and be confident managing conference programmes from initial concept through to delivery. We’re also open to journalists looking to move into conference production, particularly those with strong research, content development and stakeholder management skills.

You’ll Be:

  • Curious: interested in audiences, markets and the issues affecting healthcare professionals
  • Creative: able to develop compelling content and fresh approaches to conference programming
  • Commercially aware: able to understand delegate and sponsor needs and identify revenue opportunities
  • A community builder: passionate about bringing people and organisations together, creating meaningful connections and building engaged professional communities
  • Proactive and autonomous: comfortable taking ownership and driving projects forward
  • Highly organised: able to manage multiple conferences, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously
  • A strong communicator: confident chairing programme advisory boards and working with senior speakers, sponsors and internal teams
  • Adaptable: comfortable working across live and virtual event formats
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical or medical events/publishing would be advantageous, as would experience with event management systems and website content management.

The role involves UK travel and occasional overnight stays.

Why Join Cogora?

  • You’ll be part of a small, collaborative events team working with a highly engaged healthcare audience and a portfolio of established and growing conference brands.
  • You’ll join a Great Place to Work and UK’s Best Workplaces for Women certified employer that values inclusion, wellbeing and professional excellence.
  • You’ll receive private healthcare insurance.
  • You’ll receive 28 days’ annual leave, rising to 30 days after two years, excluding bank holidays.
  • You’ll enjoy flexible working, including a hybrid working model.
