Alliance News is seeking a Senior Markets Reporter to join its business news team covering companies, economics and markets globally.

Working alongside the News Editor and Senior Economics Reporter, the Senior Markets Reporter will spearhead the Alliance News coverage of financial markets, with a focus on equities. This will include ensuring our market commentaries and market news reporting are well-sourced, timely and meaningful. In addition to your own writing, you will assign market-related stories to other Alliance reporters, edit news articles and features, and train new staff on market reporting.

Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience in reporting on markets for a financial news service or other business publication. Your work to date must demonstrate a strong grasp of financial markets and the ability to develop contacts among market participants. Good journalism skills and the ability to work quickly and accurately are pre-requisites.

The position is full-time. It is partly office-based near Paddington Station in central London and partly home-based. Applicants seeking a part-time or fully remote position will be considered, however. Please state your preference clearly in your cover letter.
