If you boil down what Time Out does to its purest form, we recommend good stuff for people to spend their time/money doing. This role is integral to that.

The Events Editor role is focused on digging up the coolest, most exciting things happening around London and sharing them with readers on social, online and in the print magazine.

This could involve picking out the most exciting details of massive annual events like Open House, getting the scoop on underground scenes popping up across the city or telling readers which of the Halloween events coming up this year are worth their time. This is often via listings and news posts, but it can also be via list features, human interest stories and formats.

It’s the chance to paint a useful picture of all the cultural events happening in the city at any time, to give creatives doing exciting stuff a massive platform and to shape the way Londoners go out post-pandemic.

What We’re Looking For

  • An extremely organised journalist who lives for a planning document. You should be able to tell us dates for things in December in July.
  • Someone who loves going out and experiencing new stuff. Are you the one in your friendship group who’s constantly organising everyone else’s social life? Is your Notes app full of lists of club nights and art events you’re desperate to attend? Please apply.
  • A writer with brilliant tone, who can make even the shortest write-up engaging, exciting and genuinely funny.
  • A culture head with contacts in nightlife, music, the arts, crafts and community groups around the city.
  • A genuine drive to help people go out and to platform good stuff as well as an unpretentious perspective on London culture.
  • A digital-first mindset. The ability to spot social media hits. A motivation to cover things first and best.
