The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) is seeking a deputy editor to work on its flagship magazine, The Naval Architect, and sister publication, Shiprepair & Maintenance. Working with the editors, the successful candidate will be expected to research, write, sub-edit copy and liaise with contributors. Applicants will also be expected to attend industry events, both in the UK and abroad.

The successful candidate will need to be literate, numerate and a team player who can develop relationships with senior players in the shipping industry. Previous publishing or editorial experience, preferably in the maritime sector, are essential as you will need to be able to hit the ground running.

RINA is based in central London (candidates should be UK based), however, we are currently operating a hybrid working arrangement with employees primarily working from home.

The salary range is £30,000 – £35,000, depending on experience. A generous contributory pension plan is also offered.

Further details about the Institution and its publications can be found at www.rina.org.uk. If you require further information about the role, please contact hq@rina.org.uk.
