The Role:

Use your writing skills to create engaging copy that convinces audiences support Action for Children. This is a fantastic role for anyone with a passion for writing, editing and proofreading and who wants more children to have safe and happy childhoods. You’ll be working on a wide variety of interesting projects. You’ll have fun working with our brand voice which flexes to be both playful and serious.And you’ll be working alongside other passionate and ambitious colleagues to deliver the brand strategy.

You will make a difference by:

– Leading on copy development, editing and proofing for the charity.

– Leading on key messages and copy governance, reviewing copy before it goes out to make sure it carriers the right brand messages and is accurate.

– Developing copy for high-profile publications (such as Annual Report, impact reports, Thanks to You magazine etc) and high impact campaigns (like Secret Santa).

– Providing colleagues with advice on the brand tone of voice.

– Maintaining up-to-date key messages, writing style guidelines and core scripts on the brand hub.

– Managing situations where the brand guidelines and tone of voice are challenged.

– Working on a wide variety of projects supporting teams working in local services, fundraising, campaigning and more.

What are we looking for from you?

– A successful track record in a copywriting role.

– Excellent written and spoken communication skills .

– Able to work with people at all levels.

– Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading.

– Able to adapt writing style to a variety of audiences and channels.

– Able to plan and develop impactful content and consider its role with other brand elements e.g. design.

– Able to prioritise, manage and co-ordinate a large number of projects simultaneously.
