Senior Editor Responsibilities:

Alzheimer’s Society is looking for looking for an impressive writer/editor with specialist experience developing accessible information to join our busy and creative Publishing team. We make a difference to people affected by dementia through our comprehensive and high-quality information.

With demonstrable experience in producing and editing high quality, accurate, engaging and accessible copy you will play a key role in developing our portfolio of print and online information about dementia. This will involve working on and developing inclusive resources for diverse audiences in languages other than English as well as other formats such as BSL and audio.

You’ll be skilled at managing projects from editorial development through to final delivery so it’s essential that you can manage multiple projects at once and deliver to tight deadlines. You will also lead and influence on best practice in accessibility across the organisation and reach out to internal and external partners to build understanding and evidence about the wider experience of dementia.

Senior Editor Requirements:

You are a strategic and highly-organised manager. As a skilled and compelling writer and editor you can create clear, powerful content that works hard in print and online. You have a meticulous attention to detail and impeccable written English. Additionally, you have excellent communications skills and the ability to influence and liaise with a wide range of contacts, organisations and communities. You can adapt quickly, demonstrate empathy and apply a solutions-based approach to meeting the information needs of a range of diverse audiences.

You will be committed to putting the needs of people affected by dementia at the heart of our information provision. You’ll be used to creating briefs and liaising with creative content creators, working to quality information production standards. A deep understanding of accessibility issues and the needs of diverse audiences is essential in this role.
