Big Issue is looking for a talented reporter to specialise in environmental issues and become a core part of the Big Issue editorial team.

We need a reporter who can help us tell the stories our audiences care about, focussing on the impact our changing climate is having on communities in the UK and around the world and the actions anyone can take to help themselves and each other.

You will be helping to grow our audiences and support our objective of making BigIssue.com a destination news site for everyone seeking to make sense of, and act on, the biggest social issues affecting modern Britain. You will also drive core content for our multi-award-winning Big Issue magazine, and across other channels.

You will be responsible for writing articles and producing multimedia content across all The Big Issue’s editorial channels, developing sources and champions in your specialist area, understanding, and anticipating audience interests, driving traffic to the various branches of the wider Big Issue Group and raising the profile of The Big Issue and its mission.

You will be hard-working, enthusiastic, and full of ideas about how to source and produce the best articles and get the most out of them digitally.

Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and engaging copy for our various online and social platforms are a must.

We are looking for a journalist who has energy and drive, is a team player, can write accurate copy, work to tight deadlines, and has a deep understanding of the environment and environmental issues.
