This role will be part of the Press & PR team at Factory International, working closely with the wider Audiences team to deliver innovative PR campaigns that communicate the aims and activities of Factory International to the media

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to identify and shape stories about Factory International and its programmes of work.

The key responsibilities for the Press Officer role include;

• Write and prepare clear and effective PR materials including press releases, briefing documents, press-packs and responses to media enquiries
• Help organise media and PR events and activities including press launches, interviews, photo-calls, and on-the ground co-ordination of press activity including running press desks
• Briefing spokespeople across Factory International’s programmes of work and overseeing media interviews
• Booking photographer’s and overseeing photoshoots
• Contribute to internal communications as required, including the development and distribution of the weekly internal newsletter
• Maintain press area for the Factory International website, the organisation’s media library and ensure distribution to appropriate press contacts
• Maintain accurate contacts and lists within the Cision media database
• Monitor Factory International presence in the media, and relevant sector-wide news and developments, ensuring systems are in place for accurate reporting
• Prepare and circulate media reports for a variety of stakeholders
• Responsibility of the press inbox, ensuring enquiries are dealt with in a timely fashion
• Working with press colleagues to ensure the attendance of key media at Aviva Studios events
• Work with colleagues across ticketing to manage press tickets
• Providing administrative support for financial processes including efficient and accurate raising purchase orders, processing of invoices and reconciliations, maintenance of department filing and calendar systems, booking hotel and travel for media & photographers

The person specification for the Press Officer role is

ESSENTIAL
• Experience of working in a busy press office, across print, broadcast and online
• Experience of writing press releases and briefing notes
• Good knowledge of local and regional media landscape
• Comfortable with the media on telephone and in person, and communicating with a range of internal and external contacts and organisations
• Experience of media monitoring, using cuttings agencies etc
• Experience of events
• Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds

• Creative and resourceful, with an ability to think beyond the obvious
• Organised, self-motivated and able to work across a range of events simultaneously, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
