About the Role

Wake Up Productions is one of the fastest-growing digital media companies in the UK; producing some of the most-watched news and opinion content on YouTube and podcast platforms globally. Our brands – including Piers Morgan Uncensored, The Royals Uncensored, History Uncensored and a growing Sport franchise – reach millions of viewers and subscribers every week. We also make TV shows for broadcast partners and have more exciting new brands in development.

We are looking for a sharp, fast and versatile Newsletter Lead / Staff Journalist to join our digital team. This is a writing-first role, but it sits at the intersection of editorial, social media and content production and no two days will look the same.

What You’ll Do

Newsletter & Subscriber Content

  • Write and publish regular newsletter updates across our portfolio of brands, tailored to each vertical’s audience and tone.
  • Develop subscriber-only briefings – fast, intelligent, readable summaries of news, stories and behind-the-scenes context that reward people for subscribing.
  • Work closely with on-air talent to capture their voice, perspective and reaction to breaking news and major stories.
  • Ensure every edition is accurate, well-sourced and on-brand.

News Writing & Editorial

  • Write news stories and short-form editorial pieces that can live on our websites, apps and social channels.
  • React quickly to breaking news – we move fast and we need someone who can too
  • Bring your own editorial instincts: spot the stories our audience cares about before they do.

Behind the Scenes Content

  • Help create behind-the-scenes content that gives subscribers an inside view of how we make the shows.
  • Comfortable creating multimedia content – or keen to learn quickly.
  • Contribute ideas for exclusive subscriber content that deepens the relationship between brands, talent and audience.

You

  • A fast, accurate, colourful writer who produces clean copy under pressure and to deadline
  • Digitally native – you live in the same media landscape as our audiences dp and you know what they are reading, watching and talking about
  • Comfortable moving between tones: witty and punchy for PMU, authoritative for History, refined for The Royals, fan-facing for Sport
  • Social media savvy – you understand our platforms and what makes them tick
  • Excited by talent-led media and comfortable working closely with high-profile personalities
  • Highly organised and self-directed: this role touches multiple brands and requires you to manage your own workload while meeting targets and remaining brand-aligned

Preferred

  • Experience writing newsletters, subscriber publications or news stories for notable titles or bands
  • Background in digital journalism, media or publishing
  • Experience creating or editing short-form video or behind-the-scenes content
  • Familiarity with newsletter platforms such as Beehiiv or similar
  • Understanding of YouTube, podcast and subscription revenue models
  • Immediate availability or ability to start before October 2026 an advantage

What We Offer

  • A front-row seat at one of the most ambitious independent media companies in the UK
  • Direct access to major talent and major stories
  • An agile, growing and speedy team where your contribution is visible and your ideas are heard
  • Location: London – with some remote or hybrid working around production schedules and working patterns
