The Job

The Telegraph is recruiting graduates who want to be part of our brilliant team. We want committed people who have a real passion for writing, uncovering the truth, meeting people from all walks of life and telling their stories.

You will need to enjoy deadlines and writing under pressure, as well as be a self-starter and flexible. And you should love telling stories in whatever format you think is most appropriate – print, digital, video or podcasts.

So many of our graduates have gone on to top jobs at the Telegraph. Among the Telegraph stars who first joined us as graduates are Features Writer Bryony Gordon, Political Editor Ben Riley-Smith, Foreign Editor Jessica Winch and US Correspondent Josie Ensor.

We want that success to continue, and our unique 2-year scheme will give you top-quality training by our most experienced journalists.

You will get training in different sections of The Telegraph, covering everything from news to features, business and sport. You will also meet, and be able to pitch ideas to, senior editors across the newsroom.

Requirements

  • A passion for journalism, adaptability, resilience, good judgement
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification
  • Experience in student, local or other news organisations
  • Please note that this scheme is not open to established professional journalists

Details and How To Apply

Applications for the programme will close at 10:00pm on Friday 25th February, 2022. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications after this date.

Please apply with your CV, a cover letter explaining why you would like to work for The Telegraph, and include links to three pieces of work you want us to see.

Interviews will be conducted at the end of April. The successful candidates will join the team in September 2022.
