Finextra is looking for an Editorial Assistant with an interest in financial services and technology.

We’re after someone who’ll take end-to-end ownership of projects both large and small, delivering high quality on a significant volume of copy to often tight deadlines. These projects include a combination of traditional journalism and administrative tasks – on-site interviews, blogs, news stories, videos, longform reports and associated editorial administration.

Finextra is an independent newswire where the opportunities to take on more responsibility move as quickly as you can create them.

In addition to general contribution, the role will also focus upon building Finextra’s content, profile and network of contacts and customers within a number of specific growth segments. Currently, these are DevOps, Sustainable Finance, Financial Inclusion, Identity, Security, Payments, ESG, Cloud, Financial Crime and Fintech Careers.

These areas of focus may change as new technologies and opportunities present themselves.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Journalism experience; degree and/or NCTJ training preferable but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of technology and/or financial services – preferably both.
  • Interest in pursuing a journalism or media related career.
  • Proven and demonstrable professional level writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to effectively manage and prioritise own workload.
  • An enthusiastic, can-do attitude.

Salary: £20,000 – £22,000
