Campaign AI is a global business intelligence tool used by agencies and brands to track advertising account wins, retentions and losses, global award wins and brand spend. It forms an integral part of our corporate license offering across the Campaign brand and from its launch earlier this year we are now looking to provide further support for the publication of regular AI based content for its users and for our premium subscribers.

Campaign UK is looking for a journalist to join our team and to help make our data journalism authoritative and indispensable. This position will work hand-in-hand with highly skilled reporters across the globe to produce analysis and interpretation of the data within our premium business intelligence tool, Campaign AI. You will be expected to analyse the data spotting any ‘big story’ hidden within it, and produce regular commentary and interpretation of the data for weekly update reports through to the Campaign audience. A working knowledge of the advertising industry is preferred, but by no means essential.

The Data Journalist role on Campaign AI provides key support in the project management, production and delivery of all AI-related content. Their responsibility therefore includes both the editorial management of the AI data itself, plus the production and delivery of all  reports, bulletins and surveys which use the data within AI. These form a vital component of the AI user experience, and are also used to provide content for the premium ‘Knowledge’ subscription tier. Success within this role will require a combination of keen analysis of data and journalistic talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the editorial output from AI including the identification, planning, creation and delivery of all reports, bulletins and surveys as briefed into you by the Campaign AI Editor.
  • Using your close knowledge of AI data, work with the UK Premium Content Editor to spot potential data-driven premium subs tier content
  • Manage and ‘own’ the editorial input to AI including the timely delivery of monthly AI data, agency profile reports, and any other regular editorial content. This involves  the ability to import and clean large data sets
  • To work with the wider AI team helping to ensure the data in AI is fit for purpose
  • To manage any freelance contributors to AI and take charge of their commissioning as directed by the AI Editor
  • Be invested in the users: generate strong relationships with key users to ensure constructive feedback on AI and ways we can improve the system
  • Work with the Product Director to keep in place a constant process of new feature developments
  • Be the Industry Expert. Utilise your knowledge of the advertising industry to sense check data within AI
  •  Ensure quality control of all AI data and editorial is consistent with Campaign standards
