Insider is hiring a London-based videography and editing fellow to join its team to work on the series “Food Wars.” This is a paid fellowship with an annual salary of £23,000.

Fellows in this role will assist our US and UK based “Food Wars” team to create episodes of the show. They will spend their time assisting our producers in production tasks, editing footage in Adobe Premiere, working with motion graphics in After Effects, and working in our London studio to stage and shoot episodes to a high standard. They will create videos for a wide audience across the web and various social media platforms. The ideal candidate should be familiar with our existing videos and eager to contribute work in our style.

About You

Candidates for the videography and editing fellowship should have:

  • A passion for storytelling through video, specifically about food
  • Ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fast-paced team
  • An eye for detail and for moments that elevate videos to the next level
  • Ability to quickly execute videos that will be shared across platforms
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop
  • Experience using digital video equipment including Canon and Sony cameras
  • Some on-set experience and knowledge of studio lighting techniques
  • Knowledge of audio recording techniques
  • A collaborative spirit and a willingness to learn
  • A commitment to fair and inclusive storytelling

The Insider Fellowship Program is for early career journalists who want to spend six months learning from a newsroom full of passionate, dedicated journalists. Fellows are assigned to teams and become experts in digital storytelling. They produce real work that is distributed to our audience of millions, and by the end of six months are prepared for the next phase of their journalism careers.

Please note: This paid fellowship requires that you work full-time for six months. The work will be mostly remote, but will include 1 or 2 in-person shoots per week in our studio in Southwark.
