I make journalistic explainers and short films about politics for various publishers including BBC, New York Times and campaign organisations. I’m looking for some help with things like researching news topics (e.g. lobbying, NHS), finding contributors, interviewing, and other tasks. The work is remote, part-time and project based.

Long-term I’m looking to recruit and train skilled journalists to do scripting, interviewing and so on. So if you’re a fan of online video (e.g. Vox), and interested in expanding your skillset to video, then I’m especially interested in hearing from you.

As a rough guide, I’m happy to pay £170 a day (more potentially for skilled candidates) but it’s not shift work.

Please apply to mail@brendanmiller.co.uk with “VIDEO WORK” in the subject line. It will help me if you include the following (though it’s not compulsory):

  • One example of work that demonstrates mastery of a complicated area – e.g. politics, policy
  • One example of work that demonstrates ability to find contributors from a hard-to-reach group.
