About The Role

We are searching for an experienced Editor to join our creative team. Your ultimate goal will be to provide exceptional, informative and appealing content to attract our target audience and provide them with the information they need to succeed with their medical school applications. Responsibilities will include:

• Identifying customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics

• Researching, writing and proofing blogs

• Copywriting sales pages and emails for products

• Coordinating with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles

• Managing and supervising current content bloggers

• Writing meta-descriptions for SEO purposes for web pages

• Reviewing English SPAG in Personal Statements submitted by students

• Reviewing Personal Statements using our mark scheme (training will be provided)

• Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)

• Writing, designing, and proofing course materials

• Collaborating with other teams in the company, including the Project Management, Tech teams, Content and Marketing teams

About Your Experience

As the Editor, you will demonstrate a good eye for detail and will know how to manage all the moving parts of an online publication. To excel in this position, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication, editing, and proofreading skills.

• You will likely have worked previously as a journalist, content creator, writer, or editor

• Relevant experience in a similar role creating or editing content for the print/web

• Experience of managing multiple contributors will be a plus

• Grasp of SEO

• A strong command of English grammar and language, and what makes for valuable copy that is well structured for users

• Team player mentality. We like to work with friendly people who thrive when working collaboratively

• Self-motivated and confident in working on your own initiative and being imaginative

This contractor position (12 months) will lead to a permanent role for the right candidate, with employment benefits such as annual leave entitlements and private medical and dental insurance.
