Sifted is the leading media brand for the European startup community, backed by the Financial Times.

We’re looking for a digital-first freelance subeditor to sub our monthly, industry-specific reports, one of our premium products read by an audience of investors, founders and operators across Europe.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Subbing Sifted’s Intelligence reports (typically up to 10,000 words) to an impeccably high standard, ensuring all copy is free from factual errors, reflects house style and that spelling and grammar are flawless;
  • Subbing in-report data charts, which includes copy and UX.

You Will Have

  • Impeccable attention to detail and a high standard of written English, keeping to house style at all times;
  • 2 years+ of demonstrable subediting experience;
  • Familiarity with online content management systems and a good understanding of the basics of digital publishing;
  • Good understanding of media law;
  • An understanding of SEO best-practice for publishing online content;
  • A knack for writing eye-catching headlines and subheadings;
  • Good working knowledge of Europe’s startup economy and the ability to understand complex topics quickly, presenting them in an easy-to-read format.
