Air Cargo News is a digital-first business title and quarterly print magazine covering the air cargo and supply chain sectors. The publication is read by executives and decision makers in globally recognised companies and boasts more than 3 million visitors to its website each year.

 

Air Cargo News is part of the DVV International portfolio of publications and there are further opportunities to progress within Air Cargo News and the wider group.

 

Overview of role

 

The role will suit a journalist looking to take the next step in their career by joining the Air Cargo News team and delivering exclusive, authoritative and in-depth content, both online and in print. The position involves international travel to attend conferences, exhibitions and press events while a willingness to take part in online multimedia events is also essential.

 

Applicants should have a background in journalism and an interest in current affairs and B2B reporting. A willingness to develop off-diary news leads, exclusive content, build contacts in the air cargo sector and a sense of what is newsworthy are essential requirements in this competitive B2B sector.

 

Key tasks will involve:

 

  • Populate the Air Cargo News website with content on a daily basis
  • Proof reading content for both online and print products
  • Promote articles and the Air Cargo News product on our social media channels
  • Assist in the production of our twice weekly and monthly email bulletins
  • Conduct phone, face-to-face and online interviews
  • Write longer-form feature articles, news analysis and interviews
  • Upload articles onto our content management systems for layout in print editions and publication on the website
  • Represent Air Cargo News at conferences, exhibitions and press events
  • Build and maintain a network of industry contacts
  • Contribute to the strategic development of Air Cargo News
  • Work with our commercial team on sponsored content and related activity
  • Chair/present digital products such as webinars

About you:

 

  • You will have the right to live and work in the UK
  • A willingness to develop off-diary and exclusive news content
  • You will need to be diligent, flexible, well organised and able to work independently
  • You must have a full understanding of written English and its application in both news and feature-based articles
  • You must be available to travel at the company’s request as you will be expected to travel both within the UK and internationally
  • You will be able to meet strict deadlines
  • A willingness to represent Air Cargo News at public events
  • Able to develop a network of contacts
