Novara Media is taking a small team to COP26 in November to produce a series of short video packages and interviews at the conference and the surrounding mobilisations. We need an experienced producer to work with our editorial lead in order to make this happen.

The role will involve recruiting freelancers and logistics-planning pre-production, alongside travelling to Glasgow with the team to oversee our content production during COP.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced producer with excellent management and organisation skills, as they will be required to liaise with the project administrator and will be responsible for keeping on top of basic production paperwork. They will be committed to the aims and values of NM, and have some understanding of and interest in issues related to the climate crisis.

Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK (though preferably London so they can meet the team in the run-up to the summit), and must be available to be based in Glasgow from 4 to 11 November. Accommodation/transport to Glasgow will be provided, alongside a daily food allowance for the duration of our stay.

We particularly encourage women, non-binary and BAME applicants.

Tasks before COP:

  • Crewing
  • Assisting with developing our content plan
  • Reaching out to and liaising with potential interviewees
  • Creating a day-by-day plan for the week we’re at COP

Tasks during COP:

  • Managing the team when we’re at COP
  • Trouble-shooting and problem-solving production issues
  • Keeping on top of basic administration
