New Internationalist is recruiting a new magazine co-editor. We’re looking for a talented writer and experienced editor with strong analytical skills who is passionate about human rights journalism and social justice.
Dynamic, disciplined and versatile, you will be comfortable representing New Internationalist externally and ideally have a network of international contacts. You are committed to tackling oppression and injustice.
For nearly 50 years, we have delivered a unique form of global journalism with a focus on social justice and equality. Our stories cover places overlooked by the mainstream and celebrate a better way of doing things, with a focus on perspectives from the Global South.
This is a permanent position in a small, committed and busy team.
New Internationalist is part of a co-operative based in Oxford, which also runs online outfit the Ethical Shop.
Position Details
- Location: Remote working, with a willingness to travel to the Oxford office at least once a year. Staff living within 20 miles of Oxford must also attend a staff meeting every two months. There may be other meetings and events which require travel to Oxford or elsewhere.
- Start date: As soon as practicable, from February 2023.
- Salary: £30,930 pro rata
- Hours: Part-time, 28 hours a week (0.80 FTE)
