This month, Journo Resources turns nine — and we want to use the opportunity to build something better, something hopeful. That’s why we’re running 10 Reasons To Be Hopeful: a pledge of 10 resources we’ll create before we turn 10 in Summer 2026 and a manifesto for change, to create a more equitable journalism industry.
Through discussions with our community during the past year, we’ve come up with nine ideas we’re going to build, which we’ll reveal during the course of the next month. But, in order to make them happen, we need your help.

- We need the support of 100 new members to fund our work and make these projects happen. As a small social enterprise which receives no grant funding, this is vital to our sustainably. Pledge your support today and become part of a community of people making the journalism industry a better, more equitable place.
- We need your ideas for our 10th resource. While we’ve come up with nine already, we’ve left the final spot open for your boldest ideas — make sure to let us know what you’d like us to make before we turn 10 before 23.59pm on June 30.

To celebrate (and because nine is a weird number), we’re making a commitment to launch 10 new resources before we turn 10 in 2026. These will be practical tools you can use in your daily life, helping you find more work, feel more connected, and do better journalism. We’ll be revealing the full list over the next few weeks as part of our party — but that’s where you come in. In order to make it happen, we need to welcome at least 100 new members to fund these projects — and we also need your ideas! Our team has come up with nine projects we’re super excited to launch, but we’ve left a spot for you, our community, to suggest the final one. So, come at us with your boldest, weirdest, and wackiest ideas — the ones where you think: ‘Oh, I WISH that existed’ on a daily basis. 1. A Freelance Jobs Board
@journoresources It’s time for our first birthday reveal… we’re going to make a ✨ FREELANCE ✨ jobs board. We already do our best to round those up those bad boys in our newsletter every Tuesday, but we know that freelance journalism is tough and #CallsForPitches get swamped in seconds. So, we need to get them to you faster and make it easier for you to scan through the multiple social networks they’re now posted on, because no one really has time to be searching across Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Threads, and more. Our new #FreelanceJournallism jobs board will be just like the usual journalism jobs board you (hopefully) know and love, packed with opportunities we’ve found while scouring the web — and hopefully a couple of recurring links from editors who are always open to pitches. It will be tagged so you can quickly find different type of freelance work like call-outs, shifts, and contracts, and we’ll also make sure to include pay rates as standard. Sound like your kinda jam?
