Journo Resources is delighted to reveal a new 12- month support package for freelance journalists, JR Pitch Club, packed with benefits to help freelance journalists find more work, make more money, and feel more creatively fulfilled.
The new scheme, offered as part of Journo Resources Membership, offers freelancers a whole host of benefits spanning community, practical expert advice, and motivation. By signing up to JR Pitch Club, you’ll feel more confident, more creative, and have new, tested approaches to finding work.

JR Pitch Club will be run by a team of experienced freelance journalists at Journo Resources, each with more than a decade of experience of working in journalism. Alongside staffers Jem Collins, Kayleigh Watson, and Ben Sledge, the team will also be bringing in experts from across the industry. Past Journo Resources speakers in 2025 included Sophia Smith Galer, Chris Stokel Walker, Faima Bakar, Will Coldwell, and many more.
JR Pitch Club membership includes:
- Monthly deep-dives into new approaches — our experts will test out a new approach to finding more work or creative purpose each month, giving you the real lowdown on what works and what doesn’t.
- Monthly online workshops from freelance experts, spanning topics from finding work on LinkedIn to honing pitches, building up alternative income streams to developing an online presence.
- Twice weekly co-working sessions, to join together with other freelance journalists and power through pitches, tax returns, and more.
- Weekly check-ins on Discord, our supportive online community, to get feedback on pitches, discuss highs and lows, and much more.
JR Pitch Club members will also get access to the full range of wider Journo Resources Membership benefits, including our watch-back library of more than five years of expert masterclasses, our privacy-first transcription app, and a physical copy of our 2026 Yearbook, packed with inspiration and exercises to help you track your progress as part of JR Pitch Club.
Membership to JR Pitch Club costs just £75 for 12 months — a 10 per cent saving on our usual six-monthly plans — and freelancers are able to list it as an expense on their tax return. All funds raised go directly towards supporting the running of Journo Resources, providing free tools and resources that everyone can access, and help supoprt our journey towards becoming a community-funding publication.

Currently, more than 200 journalists support Journo Resources as members, helping to push us towards a member-funded future and to build their own confidence, find more opportunities, and tap into a supportive journalism community.
In addition, for every 10 members that sign up to JR Pitch Club, we’ll create at least one sponsored place for a member of the community who is unable to afford access otherwise. Details of how to sign up for sponsored places will be made available once we’ve raised sufficient funds.
