The Travel Media Awards Step Up scheme is an internship designed to drive diversity and inclusion in travel media for young people. It offers FIVE 18–30-year-olds from underrepresented backgrounds the opportunity to gain experience and mentorship in journalism, publishing and public relations.
The scheme is offering FIVE successful candidates the chance to undertake invaluable work placement with 10 leading travel media companies, each undertaking a four-week travel journalism placement followed by a four-week travel PR placement.
Successful candidates will each work with two of the below partner companies, which have been paired as follows:
- TTG Media and Virgin Atlantic
- The Sun and FINN Partners
- APL Media and easyJet holidays
- Metro and Kuoni
- Ink Global and Intrepid Travel
Step Up interns will also receive a further six months of mentoring, as well as join us at this year’s Travel Media Awards in autumn 2026, with promising careers ahead of them in travel media, be that consumer, trade, or PR.
