Healthcare Business International, a global digital publication based in London, is looking for a senior (two years experience plus) business journalist / analyst who is as comfortable looking at data as writing stories to join its growing team.
What We Offer
A starting salary of £30-35k, flexible, hybrid working, and full sector training in a field that offers huge scope for advancement and a breadth of sought-after career options including management consultancy and investment analysis. Ability, commitment, and enthusiasm will be rewarded.
What We Do
We write about the companies which run healthcare services such as hospitals, nursing homes, labs, homecare and ehealth – both in Europe, and beyond in emerging markets from Albania to Zimbabwe. We have a global readership.
Topics include M&A, the impact of political and social change, and the cultural and technological changes driving healthcare markets. HBI has a weekly news cycle, and journalists/analysts also update our comprehensive sector-by-sector business intelligence platform.
What We Need
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, numerate, articulate, confident in Excel, able to work to deadlines and under pressure, and will have a portfolio of stories and/or reports. Being multilingual is a bonus, but is not essential.
A business journalism or data journalism background is probably essential, B2B experience, though not necessarily in healthcare, is preferable.
How You Will Spend Your Time
Your time will be split between writing stories, often data-based, and updating our business intelligence service with sector reports and data. To do this you will be chatting daily to CxO level operators, investors and analysts, many of whom are aware of HBI, its publication, and its annual conference which is the largest CxO level healthcare services conference in the world. HBI is well connected. This is a proactive role for a story and data finder, and you will need to be able to spot a good story both from your chats and our data.
You will attend our annual conference and may chair the occasional session there (training will be given) and there is the option to attend healthcare services conferences abroad as part of this role.
How To Proceed
To find out more, call 07946 397159 for an informal chat with editorial director David Farbrother.
To apply, email recruitment@healthcarebusinessinternational.com with a CV, cover letter outlining suitability for the job, and either a handful of stories/reports you have written or a link to an online portfolio.
Please mention Journo Resources when you apply, it really helps us out.
