The Role

As we continue to grow and diversify our content output we are seeking a Senior Producer to join our Production team. The ideal candidate will be a social native and experienced video editor with a keen eye for a story who can work collaboratively across the production team to ensure we are continually producing exciting and engaging content for our social channels.

You will have a strong understanding of the creative process from ideation to delivery. You will be a self-starter and have creative flair and enthusiasm for what we do. Not only will you have the latest video software skills but you will be adept at writing a script, sourcing content to create a narrative and turning it into a social-first and engaging video.

As PinkNews expands on to new platforms and into new territories, we expect our content, products and services to deepen our relationship with the tens of millions of people who engage with our content every month as well as establishing relationships with a whole new audience — and our video content is central to this mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee content production and work with the team to produce original and engaging content for our diverse and global audience on our platforms
  • Keep up to date with LGBTQ+ news and produce daily videos in line with PinkNews overall message
  • Review and publish content in line with PinkNews content strategy
  • Work with the production team management on consistent audience growth across all PinkNews social channels, with a focus on Snapchat
  • Develop and ensure consistency across the style, tone and quality of PinkNews video content
  • Ensure content published on all PinkNews’ video offerings meets ethical and editorial standards while being legally sound
  • Safeguard PinkNews against copyright infringement by clearing assets (words, images, video) use on all content under remit
  • Line management responsibilities of junior production team members
  • Work closely with the production team leads to project manage commercial video content — delegating to junior producers and working cross-departmentally to deliver on time and on budget
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, finding innovative ways to enhance our performance

About You

  • Keen news sense and interest in Gen Z and the LGBTQ+ community
  • Knowledgable of social channels and keen interest in producing content
  • Understanding of PinkNews’ platforms and audiences
  • In-depth understanding of how online video works
  • Creative approach to visual storytelling

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant degree/ qualification or experience working in social media, video production or other relevant field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe Photoshop skills (preferable)
  • Adobe After Effects skills (preferable)
  • Sound knowledge of media law
  • Experience of line managing/ overseeing junior team members
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
