Press & Media Manager, GOOD LAW Project

Location: Hybrid working with an expectation to attend our office in central London a minimum of 2/3 days per week
Salary details: £53,700pa
Closes: 22/03/2026

About The Role

Good Law Project is seeking a highly skilled Press & Media Manager to develop and deliver media strategies that amplify our legal campaigns. In this crucial role, you will bridge the gap between complex legal mechanisms and compelling public narratives, translating intricate legal work into accessible, high-impact stories. You will build deep relationships with journalists and influencers while advising our Executive Team on reputational risks and breaking news opportunities. By ensuring our media presence drives meaningful responses—from public mobilisation to crucial donations—you will play a key part in our fight against authoritarianism, democratic backsliding, and the targeting of marginalised communities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Deep understanding of how broadcast and press media operate, with strong journalist judgment and instincts
  • Experience coordinating and collaborating with campaigns teams around time sensitive launches or stories, and contributing to the development of campaign strategies
  • Experience developing media angles and securing coverage in a broad range of publications
  • Experience of successfully pitching stories into local and national press
  • Experience working in a newsroom, a busy press office, or a digital-first campaigning organisation where output is measured in minutes, not days. You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information
  • Experience designing and driving press strategies aligned to business and reputation goals
  • Experience in crisis communications and high-risk media situations
  • Experience of working with parliamentarians and/or and relationship building experience with other decision-makers and press
  • Trusted relationships with journalists, editors and agencies
