Are you passionate about human rights? Are you curious about the vital role they play in communities across the UK? Are you a creative storyteller? Can you turn around stories to agreed deadlines? Can you help us amplify marginalised voices for a national audience? If your answers to these questions is ‘yes’, you could be our new journalist here at EachOther.

We’re looking for a dynamic individual to play a crucial role in helping us reach, inform and inspire people about human rights in the UK.

Reporting to our Editor, Emma Guy, you’ll research, develop and write news stories as well as features, explainers and long-reads. You’ll play a key role in supporting our editorial work, with tailored support and professional development.

As a journalist for an expanding human rights charity, you will have an interest in rights-related questions in the UK and be aware of the Human Rights Act. You’ll be able to turn around clean copy to daily deadlines under editorial guidance. You’ll also have an interest in harnessing social media as a reporting tool and will look to develop skills in multimedia reporting.

You will be a considered storyteller, with some experience of writing, either in print or online. You’ll look for creative ways to report on issues spanning the UK and will engage with a range of groups in a whole host of settings, from parliamentary hearings to local communities.
