The Role

We are looking for a keen, social media-savvy individual to help our production team find the very best content on the internet. As PinkNews’ video output continues to grow, we are seeking new Content Researchers to spend their time searching through all social platforms, sourcing content for PinkNews to feature and to gain relevant permissions from the content creators.

The candidate will work closely with the production team and learn the process of video content creation in a fast-paced publishing environment. They will have the opportunity to learn about social publishing, social analytics, as well as have the opportunity to be involved with video editing and social content creation (creating videos, scheduling content, script writing etc.)

If candidates have an interest in pop culture, influencers and trending topics, that will bring an added bonus to the role.

Responsibilities:

• Researching the latest trends and news stories to pitch them for PinkNews social videos
• Asset collection (including footage, music and credits for videos, sourcing TikToks, and creating tile images for Snapchat Discover)
• Getting permissions for footage and image usage
• Reaching out to content creators and contributors for casting
• Monitoring analytics for all PinkNews social channels to help create data-driven content
• Organising content in frame.io and assisting with content uploads for time-sensitive edits

Skills & Experience:

• A demonstrated ability to identity viral content amongst a range of social platforms
• Excellent communication and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of Adobe Premiere or a video editing software (bonus, not essential)
