Welcome to the tools you need to break into the media

Journo Resources is your complete kit to starting out in the journalism industry.

We’re growing a whole suite of unique resources based on what students and recent graduates are actually looking for, to empower them to get a better deal in the media.

Moaning about the state of the media and how it’s changed over the last few decades isn’t our bag. Instead, we want to create free tools and resources for young people that actually get them a better deal, and improve the diversity in the country’s newsrooms.

As a non-profit company, we also don’t waste any money or any other such rubbish, all our money is invested straight back into our resources and paying our staff fairly.

If you’ve got feedback or ideas, do get in touch.

It started out with a list…

Back in the hazy days of October 2016, it started with a single list. We run the only complete list of journalism and media graduate schemes in the UK, updated at least every fortnight.

You can also sign up to receive the latest grad scheme openings and paid full and part-time opportunities every month, straight to your inbox.

We’ve branched out now though. You can also see lists of awards, freelance rates, salary data, and a fortnightly journalism clinic. Plus, we’ve got much more up our sleeves to come.

Paid opportunities only

We’re dedicated to getting every young person passionate about the media into the industry – but that doesn’t mean slaving away for free.

We believe you should be paid for your work – and that’s why we will only ever post jobs which pay at least the minimum wage.

If you’re an employer offering a great opportunity – and you’re paying – get in touch and we can get your advert seen by some great people.

What people say about us

Don’t take our word for how awesome we are, here’s what our followers say:

img_5013-linda-lewis“Absolutely brilliant! A hugely useful resource. My TV Journalism MA students at Goldsmiths are in your debt.”

Linda Lewis, Programme Convenor, MA Television Journalism, Goldsmiths University

conormatchett“The newsletter is an absolute godsend, I’m already busy enough as it is as a fourth year without spending hours trawling job sites to find graduate schemes, so the newsletter is a very handy way of having them delivered straight to me!”

Conor Matchett, Student, Edinburgh University

danvevers“The most useful resource for budding student journalists I’ve found anywhere – and it gets right to the point. None of the useless unpaid guff that seems to be everywhere these days! You can find all of these jobs, schemes and traineeships by yourself, if you have a lot of time on your hands, but this newsletter compiles it all in an accessible way so you don’t have to”

Dan Vevers, Student, Stirling University

hannah“The newsletter is so helpful – Jem finds genuinely interesting opportunities at companies that treat their interns and young members of staff with respect”

Hannah Mylrea, Marketing Officer, Student Publication Association and Student, City University
